Primary & Preventive Care in Raleigh, NC

Primary and preventive care in Raleigh, NC, at Right Care Family Medicine means thorough, unhurried annual physicals, wellness visits, and screenings for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Most of what keeps you healthy happens outside the doctor’s office, but a yearly visit with a family doctor who knows you is what makes the rest of it possible.

What Is Primary & Preventive Care?

Primary and preventive care is the regular, ongoing care that helps catch health concerns early and keeps you well in between visits. At Right Care Family Medicine, Dr. Jessica Wright, a board-certified family physician, looks at the whole picture: labs, sleep, stress, family history, and the things patients often don’t get a chance to talk about.

What a Visit With Us Looks Like

  • Sports and school physicals for adolescents starting at age 10
  • Pre-procedure clearance physicals
  • Health risk counseling: diet, exercise, sleep, alcohol, and tobacco cessation

Frequently Asked Questions About Primary & Preventive Care

How often should I get an annual physical?

For most healthy adults, once a year is the right cadence. For patients managing chronic conditions, we’ll usually see you every 3 to 6 months. We’ll figure out the right schedule for your situation at your first visit.

No. You can call or request an appointment directly. Most insurance plans don’t require a referral for primary care, and we welcome new patients without one.

Most insurance plans cover one annual preventive visit per year, often with no copay. If you’d like care for a specific concern at the same visit, that portion may be billed separately. We’ll be transparent about this before, during, and after your appointment.
